Journal #12 Q&R

Q is for quiet. I had gotten home from a friends' house when I saw the moon barely peeking out through the fog and a couple of trees. I wanted to get the craters in the photo as well, but the moon was too bright in the photo. I went inside, grabbed my tripod and set it up in my driveway. This was not easy to approach as it had been raining all day and I kept slipping in the mud. Getting the camera to focus was a big struggle. The light was perfect even though it was very dark outside. It was pretty ideal, as the branches were visible which was my biggest priority. I would have liked to get the craters in the photo. I guess I need to learn more camera settings and experiment better next time. I used 1/200 of a second, ISO 800 and F5.6. I originally used a 5mm camera lens, but had to switch to the bigger lens so I could really zoom into the moon. I used a lower contrast to dim the light of the moon so the picture wasn't too bright and you wouldn't be able to tell what was in the picture.

R is for reflection. A wet floor sign, reflecting off of... well, the wet floor. I was attempting to get the yellows and oranges in the photo to show the amount of color you can find in everyday items. I was down the hall, so I had to use a wider lens to get the camera to focus. This was not an easy photo, nor was it a great one, but it still was able to capture the yellows and oranges. I would have liked to get the words unblurred, so at first glance you would be able to tell what it is.
